Movie was terrible. but soundtrack was great.
Michael Bay did a lot of cocaine producing this one :mjlol:

Only 4 black people in the whole ass movie :stopitslime::mjpls:

Mr Cooper was a cab driver
Eddie gets blown up by a meteor
Shadow man was the villain
Green mile was an emotional field hand

Movie still slaps though, I’ll never forget this song tied to it, the music video, or the promo poster for it that had the countdown clock on it.

This song and "Sweet Emotion" :wow:

Soundtrack for this movie was incredible, the scores were :banderas:

And yes I know Sweet Emotion came out years before the movie.

It was the vocal chorus set to the drone of the nasa announcers sending them into space that gave it gravity. You’re right though, soundtrack made it feel like there was some for real shyt at stake in the movie.

Lol I was just thinking about this song last night :russ: I even found out that one of my mother’s coworkers is a former engineer from Aerosmith and even got a guitar.

But yeah the song is a classic for sure :wow: One of the most GOAT songs of the 90’s and one of my most favorite Rock songs ever.

I hated it. It and Celine Dion's My heart Will Go On were inescapable in 98. This was when stores played the local pop music stations and those two tracks were in heavy rotation. Other shytty songs to me that were played a lot from that year were Shania Twain "You Still the One", Elton John "Candle in the Wind", Faith Hill "This Kiss", Madonna "Frozen", and Leann Rimes "How do I Live". I would turn the radio when Savage Gardens "Truly Madly Deeply" and Edwin McCains "I'll Be" came on but listening to them now I like Savage Gardens song and "I'll Be" is tolerable. 98 was an interesting year in music. The white boyband era with Backstreet, 98 Degrees and Nsync began . Destiny's Child dropped "No, No, No". Usher's My Way blew up. Master P became a household name with Make em Say Ughh, Puffy's solo career started and all the female country pop crossover shyt. Next "Too Close" was the top song that year.

Was never a fan, really.

I liked their Get A Grip album from 1993 but that's just because they had a bunch of hits and MTV played their videos A LOT around that time so it naturally caught on.

But this "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" song felt phony. Like it was specifically engineered to promote the movie. As I'm reading about it on Wikipedia, there's this:

The power ballad[3] was written by Diane Warren, who originally envisioned it would be performed by "Celine Dion or somebody like that".[4]

And that makes sense. It definitely sounds like something Celine Dion would sing. And while I'm at it, I hated that bullshyt Titanic song, too.
If you're going to insist on boosting a song and a movie, just go with "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal. Even that is corny now but it was a better song.

I sang every single one of those songs in my head as I read this post. Very 90s indeed.
