You can either get it from comb coils or a two strand twist. Some people use the sponge too.
When I had my locs I had it started with comb coils and it took about six weeks for it to start budding. That shyt takes time. If you're starting your locs though it's best to start in in the late summer early fall so you can cover your head cause it's going to look like shyt for the first three months or so.

If you not going to do the comb coil method to start your locs have a chick two strand twist your hair instead. Make sure that the parts are clean, neat, and even and just let that shyt grow. Then get the new growth palmed rolled every couple of months until you're good.

If you want that real natural, back to the roots of humanity look, just wash and condition a couple times a week, pick it out, and just leave it the hell alone. Don't wrap it, nothing, just leave it be. Before you know it you'll have locs.

If you want that pretty boy, SEC wide receiver looking sh1t, then yeah you gotta put more work into it. I'm too lazy for all that tho :jawalrus:

That shyt look like ass. I'm not gonna lie. Start it over bro. You should have an end goal in mind even though your hair is going to do whatever it wants to do. You want your shyt to look neat or do you want it free form?
Either way go back to the drawing board. Find a broad to twist your hair and make sure it's neatly parted.

The reality is that if you're starting out you should have a locitian guide you through the first year. They'll start your locs and retwist it. You're going to have to come up out your pocket in the beginning stages.

Go to a loctician and have her redo your parts. She’ll probably start you over with 2 strain twists because your hair is kinda past the comb coils stage. Either way find a professional and spend the bread to get a neat and clean look. The shyt is a process, your hair won’t loc over night and they will unravel in the process. You gotta keep them maintained in the beginning period.
