Depends. Like if I have a pot or pan I'll let it sit in the water, or if I'm leaving stuff in there and get lazy I'll fill a cup that's already in there with water and toss the utensils in there to let it soak. I end up scrubbing everything down anyways like in the bottom picture. I prefer to clean stuff as I use it whenever I cook so I won't have a bunch of stuff to clean at the end.

Hand wash and then let the washer finish the job, they've purposely make dishwashers weaker now because we never had to pre wash any dishes in the 90s.

Was gonna say this as well. I got a new dishwasher in my house and its already malfunctioning after 3 months. Same thing with washer and dryers. I be like :what:

Even homes today are being built shoddily.

Scrub then rinse. No need to leave the water on while you scrub.

I use paper plates and plastic utensils for the most part. I only bust out the silverware and fine china for special occasions.
