I've never personally experienced depression, but I was woefully ignorant about it for my whole life up until recently - it's actually often times a chemical imbalance.

It's all good, sorry bout the insults. This shyt ain't no joke and it hits home for me. We need to understand it not mock those going thru it. I used to be just like you fam. Not believing it was a real illness I never anticipated having to eat my words but such is life. Pray you never go thru it or ya peoples.

People even show visible symptoms from constant weight fluctuations to having dead eyes and forgetting to care for your appearance.

I really don't think the current methods of treatment works for Black people. We need our own community supporting initiatives like tak therapy where people can get help from professionals who understand their situation and look like them. Just looking at this board alone you can see a number of young black male posters who are lost and dealing with mental issues without proper support systems.
