The 4th quarter is the only quarter that matters in basketball...If you are sitting during the 4th quarter, then you are just a role player, and you don't have credentials to be compared with Kobe, MJ, LeBron, and other superstars...

I only watch the 4th quarter of any basketball game...

No...It's the way the sport of basketball is set up...

Points are scored almost every 24-30 seconds...And when 2 good teams are playing, they score right after each other...Therefore, the game can only end in the 4th quarter...

When two good teams are playing, what happens in the first 3 quarters doesn't matter...You have to close the deal in the 4th when the game is on the line...

So, how can you be a superstar and sit out when the game is on the line? If your team does better without you in the 4th, then you are just a speciality player, who is used when it is convenient for the team...

A superstar is ALWAYS needed...In the first 3 quarters, A superstar is needed to keep the score close and competitive, and in the 4th, a superstar is needed to close the deal...

Period.

The 4th quarter is set up by what you do through the first and third quarters.

Get outta here with this made for tv justification.

If that was the case, then I would feel the same way about the NFL and the NHL...

2 other sports that are divided into quarters...However, games in the NFL and NHL can be decided in either quarter...You have NHL games were a goal is cored in the second quarter, and that's the deciding goal...

The NFL is similar...A game can be lost in the 1st quarter...In the NBA, as long as you don't fall too far behind, the 4th is when you play for keeps...

Didn't realize sitting in the 4th quarter was an option that Dwight could refuse.

I'm sure Kobe wants that 6th ring, but I'm sure the desperation is not there like those trying to get their first ring. I think that "I need to get 6 like Jordan" is something that has been exaggerated by the media a little.

Come on, we know Kobe gotta stockpile that cash, because sooner or later Vanessa is ghost and she's taking half of it with her.
