Just got an email telling us we won't be paid but we still have to work. Hearing about those cancer patients that can't get treatment and what not got me feeling blessed though. Mass spam your representatives people, email and phone.

yep, essential employees DO get paid, military WILL get paid, civilian employees that aren't ESSENTIAL will not be getting paid.

I don't know about the military, I thought I heard a report that said they might not. And I'm considered essential aka excepted and I won't be getting paid.

But I didn't realize they passed a bill to exempt themselves from ObamaCare

That sounds mighty fishy...

The best part about all this, is that the senators and reps all still get their paychecks on time. They are not effected by themselves shutting down the govt.
