Are people really still giving Samsung a pass for their plasticky pos galaxy phones? That is absolutely incredible to me. Let Apple, HTC, NOKIA, or even LG come out with a phone that is almost all plastic and charge $700 out of contract and see how people react.

It is absolutely ridiculous. The phone is fast and smooth, but the pass on build quality you guys are giving them is silly at this point. When your best argument is that people use cases you know you have a problem.

The phone feels cheap and that bothers some people including myself. End of story

I would feel this post if the plastic actually resulted in a easily broken device...but the plastic is more durable than other "high quality" phones out there. The whole plastic thing is basically a preference on "feel" and looks. Which is fine...but plastic has its benefits....cheaper to make...lighter phone...thinner profiles..and in a lot of cases..more durable.

With that said...no doubt I'd much prefer to have a brushed aluminum phone but I'm real with myself to know I only want it because of looks. Looks is not enough to be like "its incredible people still buy these phones". Function is the phone seller...not looks. We are not talking about clothes here lol

more durable than glass, but polycarbonate is the way to go. Nothing wrong with a little weight to your phones.

Again, imagine if Apple announced the iPhone 6 in plastic...can you imagine the backlash? They would get killed

If the iPhone was always plastic from jump...nobody would complain...they'd still be copping because at the time the software was just that much better. Now its all brand loyalty and the sheep effect lol.

As I sit here with my glass nexus 4...knowing that it could shatter with a hard drop on concrete without a case....I still love it because of function and looks. At the end of the day...that's all this is really about...because all of these phones are breaking on a bad fall on concrete one way or another. Plastic must not be that serious because Samsung is one of the main reasons why android has taken over on another level. The Samsung phones are pretty much the token android phones these days. They've made it to the point where when people ask you what phone you have they automatically say "is that one of them galaxies"? ...just like every tablet was a "iPad" to the casuals awhile ago lol.

the iPhone 5 doesn't feel cheap and try dropping one and the odds of survival are up in the air. it feeling cheap doesn't matter because some of these uni-body non-replaceable battery non-expandable storage phones would be just as toast as a Galaxy S if you dropped them so how is it any cheaper than them?

Breh both the GS3/GS4 is polycarbonate. Now the actual finish on the phones is a big problem. No one wants that glossy ass finish. They need to make it matte.

I agree wholeheartedly, I don't think people understand what we mean when we don't like how Samsung feels in the hands. I don't mind that they use plastic , most phones are plastic. Samsung just uses the worst feeling polycarbonate plastics in the world.

The main issue becomes is when other people try to knock my choice of phones, in pretending that the only thing the HTC One has over the GS4 is the aluminum body. Now of course every opinion is subjective but I can only tell you what I do like about my phone over the GS4.

1. 100% smooth no lag what's so ever.
2. Sense 5 is actually very nice.
3. Like the camera features.
4. Remote app is awesome.
5. The phone is simple and elegant.
6. The sound especially the front stereo speakers are extremely nice.

Me personally I never been a real big fan of Samsung phones from way back in the flip phone days. No I'm not going to say that they don't make good phones because obviously they do. its just not for me. I don't like TouchWiz, I don't like the lagginess that still a issue and I don't like how they make their phones. If you are happy with your phone be happy! I'm happy what my htc phone but the fanboys are the ones that are trying to divide the android camp and at this point it seems to be mostly the Samsung fanboys who have an issue that we don't prefer their phone.

Still feels cheap tho. I think the Lumia phones are all polycarbonate as well, but actually feel durable. Might be due to the fact that they use more, but whatever the case is...The S3 and S4 feel like toys.

You all know this too

The HTC One could have been had for $579.99 and a $100 credit for your old phone.

I have until mid june to pull the trigger and I think I just might do it :smugdraper:
