Nothing in those bodegas worth the amount of legal fees you'd pay in a justified shooting.

average robber makes off with $300 in cash or smokes. A lawyer will charge you that much just to file a single motion

There is such a thing as commercial crime insurance. much better investment
You speak like a person who hasnt had gun to thier head. Sometimes mutiple guns at different times.

Its aggraviating. My uncles went through in the LES and knickbocker brooklyn.

We all have a tip over point.

This is going to end up with one of these a$$holes bodega owners in jail for being idiots. They are going to shoot somebody over a bag or chips and ruin a few people’s lives.

NYC doesn’t deal with vigilantes. They would have to both be threatened and trapped to justify them using their gun. These are not the smartest people in general to begin with so I doubt they’ll understand that until it’s too late. NY doesn’t have a stand your ground law it has a duty to retreat. That is why gun ownership is going to cause a lot of problems and no the SC can’t force NY to have a stand your ground laws

As always fukk Clarence Thomas and the Republican on the Supreme Court for giving these idiots guns

Instead of getting guns they should invest in bulletproof glass.

It's too risky to fire a gun and think the law will be on your side. Not to mention that a criminal will likely have drawn on them first so they'll probably get killed trying to defend themselves.

Now all they have to do is vote in a new DA to support their right to protect their property without being charged.

@Luke Cage aint bullshyttin.

it costs less money and time to just let mfs go once they exit the store. They dont even care about the merchandise, (they just want you to) just leave the fukking store. Their workers arent going to start a royal rumble or shootout in aisle 7 have some old lady, kid or some random person get injured or killed while they wrestle and chase some shoplifter. The store isnt going to have insurance cover the worker when their orbital gets fractured, or ankle or hand gets broke. The store has to cough that up if a bystander/shopper gets hurt, not the thief/suspect.

The businesses know this.

Research businesses that have sued police departments when shoplifters/thieves/burglars, people fighting have been assaulted or killed.

You think walgreens just wants to file a report and move on, or have someone from their legal department go to trial, have people picketing outside of their store, threatening workers over a 20z and bag of ruffles?

Is this Fernando Mateo again?

I'm surprised that many are 'clean' enough to even fill out the paperwork. Those background checks...

all this will do is decriminalize the murder of black people in new york.

:unimpressed:
You are assuming that black people are criminalizing bodegas and that protection of self and property means murder of the perpetrator.

NY just like us Californians with trying to get gun licenses

I had to go to a different county to get my license because LA County is a joke unless your a celebrity or buddy buddy with someone close

LA County is effectively no issue for concealed carry even for them.

A bigger problem is that reciprocity between counties and cities isn't as cut and dry as it should be.

NY started all this with the Sullivan Act tho

Scum Of the scum that guy. Was head of the tlc, then the bodega union, owned part of la marina and had mad drugs up in that bytch.

Really riled up the racist jargon when cabbies got robbed and bodega owners.
