They said the same thing when 4 dropped :francis:

Imo MGS4 was the best game of last gen... if you want to count MGO with it then its by far the best :heh:

Only games I think came close to MGS4 was Uncharted 2, TLOU and Red dead redemption.

EA is set to officially reveal Star Wars: Battlefront later this month, but in the meantime, the company is on the lookout for folks to playtest the game. If you happen to live near Vancouver or San Francisco, now’s your chance to try outBattlefront before anyone else.

According to EA's Playtesters Facebook page, the company is on the lookout for Jedi and Sith alike as it prepares to finally introduce the world to the highly anticipated Star Wars: Battlefront.

The game itself will be revealed during the Star Wars Celebration, a special event hosted in Anaheim on April 16-19. What will the gameplay actually look like? What sort of a story can we expect? When will the game launch? Answers to these questions and more will likely be the topic of discussion during the big show in just a couple of weeks.

Before that can happen, though, EA wants to make sure the game is running smoothly and, to do that, they’re calling in the playtesters. If you head over to the Facebook posting, you’ll find a signup sheet for both locations. The Canadian and Redwood Shores locations will each be hosting events on Friday, April 10, and it sounds like they’ll be opening the doors a lot of folks who are eager to get their hands on the game.

Various time slots will be available throughout the day, and each session is expected to last from three to four hours. As for who they’re looking for, the rundown simply says “gamers of all types.”

In other words, it sounds like you can just sign up and, if you’re accepted, simply show up. I’m sure there will be an ironclad nondisclosure agreement, but given the way things go in this industry, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear a few details about the game trickle out before the official unveiling the following week.

So far, all we’ve seen of Battlefront is a brief teaser during EA’s press event at E3 2014 and an even briefer teaser more recently. I’m certainly looking forward to getting a better idea about what the game will offer. Star Wars is a storied franchise when it comes to video games, with quite a few clunkers and an equal number of home runs. Given the new film franchise, though, I’d be willing to bet every stop is being pulled out to make sure this game delivers.

So, should we expect something likeDragon Age, set in the Star Wars universe? Or perhaps it will be something more like, say, Destiny or Battlefield? Will we get to pilot any of the series’ legendary vehicles?

Star Wars: Battlefront Takes The War To New Planet

star_wars__battlefront_71681.jpg

Star Wars: Battlefront will let players fight on the surface of Sullust, a planet not previously seen in the main series. Today the development team at DICE celebrated Star Wars day with a preview of this unforgiving world.

Sullust is home to the mouse-like Sullustans, who live underneath the lava-filled surface of the planet. You may have spotted a Sullustan in the recent trailer for the game. Another member of the race was part of the Millennium Falcon's crew during the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi.

It's unclear when the battle for Sullust in Battlefront is set. However, the Empire still has a foothold on the planet. They have bases across the surface from which they can launch ground troops and squads of TIE Fighters.

“We wanted to create a planet on our own, first trying out different ideas and then deciding on a lava planet with black sharp rocks, huge land shifts, red lava, turquoise lakes, and white smoke…everything to make it really colorful yet imposing and threatening," concept artist Anton Grandert said in the preview.

The development team went to Iceland to film reference footage for Sullust. The country's rocky terrain was used as a foundation to build an authentic Star Warslocation. They created Imperial bases with designs reminiscent of the Death Star and carved rivers of lava through the landscape. DICE's hope, said lead environment artist Andrew Hamilton, is that the planet looks like "it could actually exist."

Sullust is one of 12 Battlegrounds that will ship with the game. Others include classic locations Endor, Hoth, and Tatooine. Jakku, a planet featured in upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be featured as well.

"Some of the maps support our epic modes like Walker Assault, while others are tailored to more intimate, close quarters combat," DICE said at the end of their preview. "Our goal is to bring a variety of battle fantasies to life."

In honor of Star Wars Day, the development team also released two images featuring Sullust. You can check them out below
