I was very close to buying a sonata, it's a really decent car for the price you pay. It just feels nicer than other cars in its class. Eventually Hyundai will shake that cheap notion off, just like toyota and honda did back in the day, it will just take a few more years.

I'm fukkin with that in a heartbeat. I was up on the Equus when I saw it at the auto show years ago like :lawd:

Hyundai and Kia are gonna start making their own luxury lane. They might not ever get up there is stature as far as the Benz, Audi, BMW but I think it could at its peak start taking bread away from Infiniti, Acura and Lexus (2nd tier luxury)

:ohhh: at rebranding for luxury. Genuis.

U know the funny thing about the rebranding, in japan they just Hondas and Toyotas then only ones that I saw that carried the Acura or Lexus Badges were the Coupes and the Big Bodies. They just use the regular ones like an extra class ie Accord LX, Ex, then the state side Acura

This. Every time i see these I think they are some exclusive shyt, then i see that its a hyundai and im like. "oh nvm, continue what im doing".

-DMP-
They've been trying to separate their high end vehicles from the other 'Hyundais' though. The Genesis and Equis don't even have the Hyundai logo. They have their own badges....guess its still not working.

I have an older Sonata and when the time comes to upgrade, I will most likely stay in the Hyundai family. I've had it about 4 years and so far so good. Really not a bad car for the price.

I know it's not a bad quality car by the numbers, but you'll be hard pressed to shake the "economy car stigma" that comes with that H-Badge. You'll look like you're buying cheap champagne in a fancy bottle. :ld:

Really more of a Mercedes or Lexus fan, anyway. :ohlawd:
They need to take all their luxury models and call them Genesis or something else separate it like honda did with acura and toyota did with lexus.

I think they're trying to elevate the entire brand with these luxury models as oppose to creating a separate one. Eventually Hyundai will sell more than some japanese companies
