It was Westside Gunn, his younger brother, who gave him that shyt. Imagine you start a business with your brother and your cousin, you are busy with some other business.

I mean, nah he gets a pass for this. If you can’t trust your family who are serious business men, who the fukk can you trust. It’s like when people say, don’t negotiate without a lawyer. We’re supposed to trust lawyers but not our own blood - sad shyt if true :why:
So you wouldn't even read it? As a grown man?

On another note:

How many posters in this thread have thoroughly read their leasing contracts for their homes and cars? Their employment contracts? Their tech contracts with Apple, Facebook, and Uber?

Record contracts aren't too much different from any of those. It's not just the language of the contract that can be a problem, it's the individual interpretation of the terms and beyond that the court's interpretation of the language.

When artists complain about their contract, very rarely have they actually tried to litigate the terms - as a person who has taken contract interpretation issues to a federal appeals court - it can go an entirely different direction, look at Lil Wayne litigating his contract with Baby.

He didn’t go out of his way to make it public he was asked a question and decided to be honest about the situation.

In the interview when Charlemagne starts questioning him about the Griselda situation you can see Con hesitate for a moment weighing IF he should speak on it and then he gives kind of a generic answer then Charlemagne STAYS on the same line of questioning and Con just decides to be honest with his feelings on the Shady situation which led BACK to Griselda

Based on his history of always complaining I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to put this out there. He made a point to also say that he wanted to get the situation straight with Griselda before he signed any other deal. This leads me to believe he thinks he is owed more and making the situation public puts Westside Gunn in a position to address this . Saying in public that you don’t trust your own brother is not a good look either.

Conway also took control of his own merch situation in 2019 and started getting his stuff pressed through DeRapWinkel. He stopped using Daupe. Also, I know the all Conway's projects from 2019 to now say "Executive Produced by Westside Gunn" but it's in name only. With the exception of Lulu with Alchemist, Conway has executive produced all of his own projects in the past few years. West has had very little (or maybe even no) input on Conway's more recent work.
Very interesting and points to Conway making moves early, when he realized this shyt wasn’t going right.

Dunno where Conway goes next. Might need to just stay independent or do more Empire; I think you mentioned he has some projects with them lined up. I can’t see a major giving him a bag after the poor album sales.

That was fukked up hearing him say he don't trust West. Really unnecessary too. Keep that shyt out of the public.

:russ: It’s funny y’all so keep it out of public but all Westside, Conway, and Benny have done was complain and bytch about everything little thing on social media and in interviews for the past 6 years.

that hurt to see conway say that but if its true no need to front. you do think your family gonna be more honest with you. but i know my mom, brother and sister solid on this stuff, but any other family members involved in something business wise, it can and will go bad money wise for sure.

i do think you gotta read the contract though, take your time with it or pay a legal 3rd party neutral to the situation to look at the major points at least. i respect how he admitted his mistake on it, and probably learned a lesson going forward. but not trusting nobody at all, thats a lonely feeling. hope the best for him, i'm from the 716 also, 10 minutes from buffalo.

ran into conway at the floyd-logan paul fight in miami, took a picture with him and chopped it up quickly. real chill humble dude, he was with his lady- nice little brown skin joint.

WSG is clearly the brains of the whole operation. Possibility that he gave Con a standard contract while Con was expecting something a little more favorable.
