i have noticed the lack of a buildup to the 4th this year compared to the last few years.
I remember they were complaining for months in NYC about fireworks and I've heard New Yorkers say its way different this year

The people across the street bought literally every single type of firework, and let them off nightly. It was a sequence of different types until they ran out. I’m sure they’re buying more today. They don’t even wait until it’s dark to start. This was in addition to all the other people setting them off around us blocks away. Fireworks should be illegal.
