I always felt like this was KRS's hardest track

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Self professed advocate for 90's commercial rap...

So you know how i does it. One of my favorite remixes from the silver era (or rather, shiny suit era).

Back in highschool, the back packers despised this song soooo much but i always liked it. In retrospect, it was a great beat, but what Puffy represented and KRS's placement in hiphop's forefather elite made it a questionable collabo at the time.

I have absolutely no quarrel with the track and with it being a very rare and unusual pairing, the end result was an undisputed underground classic.

*takes that*

Blastmasta Kris, i dont talk ish, just expand your consciousness & dismiss foolishness. Nobodies new to this, nor new to Kris. In hip hops atomic structure, i am the nucleus..."

that opening was just so potent....thats my shyt man...gets me hype

"ya whole style is foul, makes me wanna shoot a freethrow...BLAOW!"

clever lines w/o a barrage of similes & punchlines takes talent. These punchline rappers arent impressive to me

"some like to bring shotties to the party. I bring knowledge of self: you cure the mind you cure the body. some rappers come to the party hoping to leave wit somebodie's chain. i come wit skills wit skills and i leave wit ya muthafuking respect......so check"

"any emcee can battle for glory...but to kick a dope rhyme to wake up ya peoples another story..."

7mile to SE & Uptown!
Dope thread...KRS has too damn many "hard" classics. I would still have to say Outta Here is the hardest though. but who remembers these?!?

It would have to be "Duck Down", "The MC" "Build Ya Skillz" or "Outta Here".

Those are some ridiculously hard joints from Kris.

This was also his last decent album imo also.

I'm not expecting this generation of trap music, catchy beats and hooks rap listeners of today to feel this joint tho

We fans of lyrics are last of a dying breed

:manny:

I agree with the thread-title, 'Ah Yeah' is a damn hard track. Especially:

"Every president we ever had lied,
You know I'm kinda glad Nixon died!"

I saw KRS live a couple years ago, just after Reagan passed away. He changed this lyric to this then:

"You know I'm glad Reagan died"

He was not kinda glad, but glad Reagan died... That's cold, man. :krs:

I don't agree with the bolded though. His self-titled album was not his last decent album. Have you not heard these:

Definition of the word MC back 88-97 really. He had a great run and made powerful music. I can't get with KRS just going in the booth the last few years and just freestyling.
