What's crazy is that I didn't like Wu either. That's not really my time and I never bothered to fukk with them. Until my dad put me on to Liquid Swords and 36 Chambers. 
The only way you can think they are corny is if you don't listen to them. There's no way you can give their projects the time and then say they are corny. It's almost impossible.
