haven't read through the whole thread but this quote is SIX years ago at this point. I think it applies here considering the arguing on the first 10 or so pages

you and the poster who dapped you put too much stock into coli narratives. the funny thing is, is that you'd be the first one to point out how backwards the coli is and to not take it too seriously. Yet you base the entire ADOS movement off of what you see on the coli.

I've taken a big step back to arguing about this and have decided to pretty much not talk about this on here.

but I'll leave you with this. you can search my username with the words "yvette" "tariq nasheed" "jason black" and whoever else you think I would be a follower of and come up with nothing. It really doesn't matter to me whether ADOS is the moniker going forwards or not as long as a distinction is agreed upon at large and used.

this isn't going away, and it's because african americans are sensing the need for clarification beyond just a unifying term for our ethnic identity as it pertains to reparations.

I could go deeper but I'll leave it at that.

Is this the new excuse you guys will bring out to try and excuse the hate Tariq has been spewing? :mjlol:
Breh i was here from the beginning

The coli lineage mindset actually predates tariq,FBA AND ADOS. We were on this HERE before anybody else

I was here since the beginning. In the initial stage, before you could drift it off to tariq xenophobia or what yvette was saying, the general consensus amongst non fbas was that delineation was xenophobic in and of itself. This was before the memes or people could throw it all on what tariq was saying

The straight no chaser version is as follows

These black americans can be as influential and visible as they want to be. But what we have over them is a sense and semblance of culture

Your used to the culturally aloof american negros not knowing what that is. That was your trump card over us

Now the tide has turned. And your types are mad. We pulled the big joker(fba reference) that you thought you had over us

I can't tell as fukked up yall countries are.

Too busy going to the fete' or whatever Carnival is going on waving that(insert Caribbean nation)flag but would have a mental breakdown if one of the ICE crackas came to ya door and put you on a plane and sent you back to that same flag you waving

But got time to have an opinion on what Black Americans call themself.....
Make it make sense :skip:

Except celebs have been separating themselves for the longest time now. James Brown and Smokey Robinson are notable. Tina Turner as well. When James Brown did it, people shrugged. I don't recall him bashing Africa. When Tina Turner did it, she bashed African so they had a problem with it. There have been others. The problem is that too many of the ones who claim it are weirdo hate-mongers. That or they will claim that they never came from Africa and shyt all over Africans, often ones who never did anything to them, while demanding respect. You tell them to take up their issues with Africans with the African that said or did shyt to them and you get endless jeulzing but I digress.

In any case, as for why people keep bringing Tariq up in this thread, the tweet by OP is literally by Tariq. I don't know what else to tell you. There has been no script flipping or tides turning, just the same old shyt, different day.

What does this even mean.

If you are a black person in this country, you didn't sprout from the soil; you came from somewhere. Being too lazy or ignorant to find out where and then creating a term to distance yourself from unknown relatives is...weird. Mad africans come here, see people who have doppelgängers walking around in their very same villages back home, then have to listen to y'all goofy FBA cats talk about, "Nah, man, we been here fam." My nikka, if you are carrying a bag of apples through an orange grove and a couple fall out, are they oranges now?
A lot of us have been here "fam".

FBA is about saying we not those other negroes.

It’s a Republican tink tank and all the losers claiming FBA have the same victim mentality.

What’s the end goal of being a FBA ? So reparations don’t matter anymore ? It’s only an issue when Democrats are in power ?

Y’all Neggas been exposing y’all selves

If you were asking Tariq and his following this it would be a legit question because he is a republican shill.

But having a distinct lineage is important within its self.

I sentiments exactly to people who claim to be indigenous and never was slaves but want reparations for people from Africa who were enslaved. Goofy ain’t it?
Some American Indians were slaves, why would they not want reparations?

My point is the former enslaved should get reparations.
You made that point, like all people who know they are indigenous hold the belief they weren't slaves or that slavery didn't exist.

Listen, there's people of varying opinions in every group, trying to make people with fringe opinions the face of the entire group is nothing short of dishonest. No different from the people who label anyone who identifies as FBA a Tariq Nasheed supporter, it's fukking annoying.
