The "default setting" for rap music has become nothing but hate, disdain and downright destruction of one another:
You got people who never lived the street life a day in their life, but when they pick up a pen to write rap lyrics or freestyle, all they rap about is how much they hate or wanna kill other black people.
You got kids who grew up in the suburbs in a warm and loving environment, rapping about trapping and shooting at opps.... because that subject matter has turned into the default setting.
I don't listen to it personally, but at this point I'm more fascinated at how a people (blacks) find nothing wrong with it and actually defend it.

You folks must have been living under rock the fast few decades. What we see is an evolution, nothing more. Rappers in the 90s talked about it and rappers today are living it (literally). The state of rap music didn't happen over night.
