I knew you were gonna pull that splitting hairs shyt people call it Hip hop all the time. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing. I'm well aware of the "hip hop is the culture, rap is the music" thing, still call it hip hop, and many others do, too.

There's no similarity between Chuck Berry's music and foo Fighters other, than they played guitar lol, you gave the L to yourself

White Lines audience is the same demographic as Young Thug's audience

Chuck Berry's music demographic is nowhere the Foo Fighters demographic, so what comparison can be made, it's that way because their two different types of music

lmao you can't even tap your feet to the foo fighters music

Little Richard's music is the same as Chuck Berry's and they played two different instruments

None of the elements in their music can be found any of those 70, 80's and 90's bands because their all different music and genres

The Hair Bands of the 80's are not the same type of music as Foo Fighters lmao

Hip Hop and Jazz are the only contemporary forms of music that have stayed true to their roots, you can add classical to that as well

People call it Hip Hop Music, but it's the music of that culture

just like people saying Chinese Music, which is music of chinese culture

you moron, chinese music forms actually have names, just Hip Hop culture's music has a name and it's rap

Rock was/is largely guitar based, thats like saying Hip Hop isnt largely sampler/drum machine (now DAW) based because the Roots used a live band. Just accept your L breh.

Well...if you traces the roots of Rock N Roll(Rhythm n blues,Gospel,Swing etc)it was initially done by people of color, not by people who colored their faces. So does he have a cultural background to appreciate the roots of Rock n Roll? He could only identify with it later once IT was stolen and lost a lot of its soul.

They were using samplers in the 70's before Hip Hop

Prince and Gap Band used drum machines were they hip hop

The instrument has nothing to do with the form of music

KISS was overrated than a muthafukka anyway. Take away the makeup and homo boots and artistically they're not worth mentioning. Its offensive to mention them in the same breath as Zeppelin, Ac DC, Black Sabbath, Hendrix, etc.. Or to take it a step further, to mention them in the same breath as Stooges, Iggy Pop, MC5, or Alice Cooper is flagrantly disrespectful.

And Chinese traditional music has INSTRUMENTS that are synonymous with the sound, breh.

To extend that, I'll use an example of a country who's music I'm more familiar with; Japan.

The Shamisen, the taiko drum, the koto (I believe they all have Chinese counterparts which I don't know the name of)
All near vital to the traditional japanese sound, if not completely necessary.

And I can take those same instruments and make a hip hop beat.

Also Hip Hop is a form of black music, so all the sounds and rhythms are in relation with the other forms of black music lol. Chuck Berry's sounds and rhythms do not coincide with the foo fighetrs lmao

Samplers and beat machines are tools, "THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOUND"

The sounds/samples are loaded into the machines and manipulated lmao

Drum Machines were used before Hip Hop

Hip Hop adapted the tools, just like they did keyboards, and every other instruments.

When It first started, it was just two turn tables and microphone, the DJ would loop a part of a record that was catchy, THIS IS CALLED A BREAK lmao

In the ghetto kids were too poor to afford instruments and drum machines, that's how the music started, and that's why hip hop was sampled based in the beginning.

You can make the same type of beat without samples, just like Just Blaze did Welcome to new york city, which wasn't sampled, but sounds like is other beats where he looped records.

Rap/hiphop is the last chapter of musical history. The last frontier in music, the last musical genre with both high levels of creativity, mass appeal and classic songs .

I don't see a new musical genre that will have a. revolutionary impact like rap. People say and hope that EDM one day, will take over rap as the most recognizable brand of music today, but it will never happen. Edm is too niche for that.

And unlike rap, edm doesnt require a Personal presence (charisma, swag, mass appeal transcendence, etc)in order to become stars. Edm stars like nerds/geeks shine because of pure technicality, they hide behind their modern equipment, they don't have excellent writing, social conscience, etc and can afford to be soulless.

Rap stars connect perfectly with the mass of humanity, through emotions, imagination, shared struggles, etc and thats why regular people can relate to rap in so many ways unlike edm.

Rap has existed less than half than rock, jazz and pop and managed to reach the same levels of revelance, mass appeal, historical significance and legitimacy as rock, jazz and pop in half the time.

Even classical music from europe, has not enjoyed the mass appeal than rap has now. It was confined to the nobility and those with decent refined musical sensibilities. It was destined to have an limited impact because most common folk such as peasants, bourgeois etc couldnt relate to the complex but extraordinary musical genius of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, etc...Rap was able to be both relatable to common folks by appealing to their emotions, shared struggles, and relatable to intelligent folks by stimulating their imagination (methaphors), wit and intelligence.
