I will admit that Nigerians are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They want the ability to compete in the global economy but need to make the decision on whether to promote a singular global identity or continue with their splintered local identities that are causing major systemic divisions within their society. The downside of that is that there may be a loss in tribal traditions/history, etc.

I think offering America as an example of how to reconcile the two doesn’t work because America at its core was founded with a strong national identity that came from the rebellion against England whereas Nigeria was not. Splintered local identities preceded the founding of the country.

I hope the AA in the thread are paying close attention. There’s a reason alotta our Elders said if the Black race is to once again be free and take our rightful position on the global stage, the leadership class will come from over here.
