Why do so many successful comefic writers and comics seem to have passive-aggressive or sociopathic/narcissistic tendencies in the way lie, attempt to dominate others, or otherwise control the larger narrative (as they perceive it) of themselves and those around them?

Do you believe that is a result of who they have always been and that gravitated them toward the entertainment industry, or is the entertainment industry creating and influencing people to be this way?

They have unresolved issues. Many comedians display a correlation between being funny and being "well adjusted". It's legit sad. But at least they have a safe outlet. I use safe loosely.

I've been in more fights that the average person over jokes. So I kinda wanna add that point. A lot of these dudes and ladies are real AF. they not afraid to lose anything, let alone a fight. They will beat your ass and laugh about it.

That's why we talk so much shyt. Partially.

Why do white people walk around barefoot outdoors but wear shoes in the house
White people wear shoes with a certain level of intelligence. It's functional. Also, technically they not wearing shoes ever because Crocs ain't shoes.

I've done all those things but right now I'm focused on writing and acting in my own stuff. I still do stand up.

I haven't had to write any material for someone else in about 6 months or so. I might stop doing that shyt altogether because I've had some truly unfunny motherfukkers act like they did me a favor like they weren't telling MY jokes. :mjlol:

Imagine a nikka/broad paying you a hundred bucks an hour to turn around and try to give YOU. advice. Some of the goofiest shyt I've ever experienced.

u WGA?

u ever get burned by flat fee after something blew up?

i did.
I never joined the guild. So far it's all been independent stuff or I guess ghostwriting (technically). I find it easier to just write some shyt and sell it. I don't really marry my material or scripts like I did when I was younger.

What makes Patrice O'Neal so much funnier than all those New York cellar crowd comics like Louis CK, Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope, Kevin Hart etc.. They all turned out to be great, but Patrice was a different level to them.

Also what are your thoughts on Norm Macdonald?
