Best producer ever. Dilla and Kanye are his understudies. Main Ingredient basically birthed both of them, and is the best produced rap album ever arguably.

Its annoying how he didn't properly transition into the late 90s and early 2000s with his sound. He's still a GOAT but he slowly started to become a underground rapper's producer while Trackmasters and Swizz Beatz were were gaining commercial notoreity. But Dilla and Kanye (being his understudies) gaining acclaim as the 2000s came is pretty much still a ode to Pete Rock. So it evens out.
