I cannot defend this nikka anymore.

His game makes absolutely no sense. You can pencil in a 3 pointer or two a game, outside of that, there's nothing else he's doing right now on an NBA starter level. I haven't looked into it too heavily, but you'd be hard to find another starter who's worse.

He's ass at finishing in the paint and at the rim despite being a +athlete and having size/strength at 6'8.

Just watching the games, not even looking at stats, I'm willing to bet, for his usage rate, his turnover % leads the NBA. No plays being called for you, no ball handling responsibilities outside of finishing possessions and you still end up with 2 or 3 turnovers in a game??? Nah.

Giddey has a better defensive rating than Patrick Williams. The notion that he's a good defender is over for me. I never was all the way sold on his defense anyway, but Billy's supposedly playing him all these minutes instead of Matas, when Pat isn't stopping or even deterring anything, meanwhile Matas leads the team in blocks with a fraction of the time on the floor.

And there's this part of his game that's just embarrassing...

Patrick Williams rebounds like a 7 year old elementary school player.

Coach tells him to boxout and keep his man from getting the ball. Dude just boxes out and then completely stops pursuit unless the shyt bounces right to him. Too many times I see this dude jocking for position with an offensive player as somebody else who's in the rebound radius WITH him just grabs an offensive rebound with him just watching.

:what:

Man, go after the fukking ball

:wtf:

When you watch him rebound, it's really bad. People need to understand that rebounding is a skill, there's an instinctual element to it as well as a MOTOR element that players have to have to be good at it.

Pat's defense would be better if he could secure rebounds and effectively END possessions. But, instead, he legit cannot go get a rebound unless the ball drops right to him. He uses all his energy on boxing out guys and just does not go after the ball. Then don't get me started on how many times, he bobbles a rebound and it goes back to the other team and they score.

None of yal more disappointed in this nikka being this bad than I am either.

Im not down on him like others but he has regressed. The unforgivable part is he regressed from a low floor/low ceiling role player.

He did come off of a foot surgery that takes time to heal beyond what his actual court return demands, but he is a negative in most cases. Its baffling to see flashes of a good role player and then just nothing, but he was a bench player in college. Those measurables got him generational wealth so good for him but everything about his tenure has gone wrong. If it isnt injury, its constantly looking like a 4+1 on offense rather than a unit of 5. Billy uses him in a way that he usually isn't in position for rebounds BUT there is no excuse for it to be zero to 3. Guys accidentally get that many in games who have his amount of minutes. He is undoubtedly going to play better later but its likely to look like same old Pat and nothing special. Sucks because someone of his frame should be bodying cats on offense and defense while averaging 18-6-3 as a 3rd option. He has the skills but none of the consistency, much less the temperament to fire himself up it seems. He has to know his job is at risk as a starter and the checks he gets after this wonโ€™t be nearly as sweet as they could have been.

I still can't believe he got that extension even though he showed little signs of improvement through the years. I don't think you can even trade him with how the second apron works. He might not have any value until he's an expiring. How is Arturas and Marc Eversley not fired after that terrible deal?! As cheap as the Bulls are...they gave all that money to this dude. Man.

He's supposed to be closer to Jalen Williams or Jalen Johnson

Adam mentioned something during the game last night about his dunk percentage being down to 70% or something since his foot and wrist injuries. Maybe that's why he can't secure the ball worth a damn anymore. Stacey dubbed him as the PAW for how easily he palms the ball and shyt, but every game I watch, he mishandles the ball or just LOSES it going up for a damn dunk. Like... how is this happening every game? For real.

They saw a guy with the measurables and athleticism that's had 2 of his 4 seasons cut short due to injuries, so the "potential" angle was there. He also had the argument that he was limited because of DeMar being on the team. The what if-ism about his development had he been able to play without injury or DeMar is ultimately what got him paid.

The Bulls showed all that conviction in him, but when you just look at guys who were drafted around him that play the same position, the deal makes no sense. Okoro and Toppin were all comparable and got considerably less.

The Bulls would legit be over 500 with more production out of that PF spot this season.

This is funny and accurate as hell. I know exactly what you mean. This is how young kids (rebound) or do any new skill. I could see a kid boxing out and not grabbing the ball, the coach screaming,.and the kid like you said box out.

Pat had me fooled man. He size, athleticism, hand size, touch (at times)....i was like bro can luck into 15 pounts a game.....but nope.
