Nah, he's an above-average defender who does what has become one of the more valuable archetypes since the Golden State revolution: 3-D wing.
The problem is, he's not an above average defender right now. He's basically Duncan Robinson without the ability to shoot 3s on the move or with volume.

Yup. But as I said in the same comment:

If he was going to be a net-negative, we would have known this definitively had AKME not pivoted from "draft and development" to win-now. Add in two seasons derailed by serious injuries and we have the same guy we got 4 years ago only a little bit worse.
He has been worse. He could still be recovering from the injury (in fact I am sure he is) but he has lost what little mojo he had. He only played 16 minutes tonight and honestly they might as well cut his minutes if this is what he is going to be doing. Pull him off the bench and make him a focal point.

If he continues to be ass, his minutes will continue to be cut. Anyone asking for him to be traded assumes someone else would want him right now. I might have already said it, but i'm not tripping on him. I am sure he will play at least baseline soon BUT I don't have expectations of him to be anything better. He quashed all of that in year 3 even though he played all 82 games.

The Chi (South Side)
the crazy thing is we all know he sucks and he still got a 90 million dollar deal
something is broken with the league where that can happen

these gm's have proven time and time again, that they are NOT nearly as smart as they think that they are. cuz stupid deals have been handed out multiple times annually for the 30+ years I've been watching the NBA.

i can't believe he got paid
It's an interesting case study, because even in a prove it year, he didn't prove anything that Chicago didn't already know about him.

His deal was truly a leap of faith that everything came together. Best case scenario maybe turning it around like Hunter in ATL... And ironically he's played the best coming off the bench
