A very, very underrated movie. My interpretation is that

Depp was the Antichrist the whole time, and the plot of the movie was a test to bring it out of him.

Recorded this on VHS years ago after reading the sypnosis and was hooked all the way through until the tape finished before Depp goes into the castle


Had to buy the DVD a few years later just to see the ending
