So somebody in Australia tried to buy something from google twice for a $1 last night. Canceled my card and got a new one this morning. No exaggeration, I know at least 30 companies I gotta now go in and change my debit card info. All for the $1. A $1. :why:

i think you did the right thing
The scammers do the $1 test to check if you have money in your account in hopes it doesn't flag.. before fukking you up for real.

i'm no expert, that was info i fouund after my bank blocked my cc because of a suss $1 transaction.

$1 is a test amount. Legit companies will sometimes do a test charge before a larger one. But this is what scammers do as well. Moral of the story: Grams Not Scams
you shouldn't use your debit online whoadie

It's much easier to dispute credit vs your checking

As long as you with a decent bank you don’t have to worry about using your debit card online. If your card is compromised they will cover any fraud

Y’all nikkas talking about don’t use your debit card online sound crazy as hell. Do y’all understand that your card can be compromised without you ever activating it? Most cards and info are stolen from data breaches from big companies. shyt like Verizon or some shyt. Whole companies client info being leaked and shyt. It’s almost nothing you can do to guarantee your card info is not out there. It’s the world we live in

Its a hassle but you saved yourself from a major L. I work with banking.... scammers usually pick small amounts out to help avoid suspicion then pull out chunks of hundreds before ghosting.

That doesn't mean you don't mitigate risk where you can
