$1 is a test amount. Legit companies will sometimes do a test charge before a larger one. But this is what scammers do as well. Moral of the story: Grams Not Scams

As long as you with a decent bank you don’t have to worry about using your debit card online. If your card is compromised they will cover any fraud
All of this here.

Even so, why even risk it and play that game?
Risk my money vs risk the lenders (and get cash back/churn points)? :yeshrug:

Y’all nikkas talking about don’t use your debit card online sound crazy as hell. Do y’all understand that your card can be compromised without you ever activating it? Most cards and info are stolen from data breaches from big companies. shyt like Verizon or some shyt. Whole companies client info being leaked and shyt. It’s almost nothing you can do to guarantee your card info is not out there. It’s the world we live in

You can lock your debit cards. That’s what I’ve been doing for the past 3 years.

you shouldn't use your debit online whoadie

It's much easier to dispute credit vs your checking

yeah I ran into a simliar issue with google as well.

for some reason, they charged my apple card twice for YT premium last month, so I contacted goldman sachs, and they disputed and refunded that charge immediately.

I NEVER use debit cards except maybe to get cash out the bank occasionally.

Also when you simply add it to your online wallet to make sure its valid. Gets canceled out if it goes through. Mine was declined but still added to my wallet.

If you're buying from reputable sources you shouldn't have to be OD about your debit card. If anything, when somebody steals your debit info they're stealing from the bank or credit bureaus. That's why they always have class action suits from leaks. And nowadays most banks are cool with fraud protection and cancelling shyt.

I just had to cancel my debit card this morning. Someone charged $40 to my card at the Marriott last night and I have my card with me :why:.

Luckily my bank is able to update my Apple Pay with the new card, but I still got to wait for the physical card to update all my auto pay merchants :snoop:
