@Stuntone there is a lot of misinformation out there. Many people are struggling because of poor financial choices, not because they are broke. The common problem is living above one's means, and that is the main issue. They want it now, regardless of how it affects their future. They want it now, even if they actually are broke.

Let me tell you something, I'm down here in Texas, and you can save a good amount of money by simply doing a little due diligence. I'll use myself as an example: when I moved to San Antonio in 2013, my first spot had a $99 Move-In Special, and Rent was $575/Month. After the lease ended, moved into a brand new complex with first two months free ($1100/Month 2/BR). Renewed the lease once because they offered another free month of rent. Then in 2016, me and my lady bought our house. Oh, and back in Jersey, from 2005 until I moved, I stayed at the same place, had a 3-BR for $950/Month the entire time (only one rent hike, from $900 to $950).

Rent is affordable here in Texas and anywhere else that has Apartment Complex living. Life is so much easier when your Finances are in order and understanding what it means to have a Good Credit Score. For those out here living paycheck to paycheck, living off credit cards, or have a good paying job but never save a dime, of course finding a decent mate and obviously getting your life in order will be a struggle.

"They say money can't buy happiness, but I'd like the chance to see/Cause I could buy what I want and go where I please/And that's good enough for meeee"

- A Song from Breakin' 2 when they were washing cars to raise money for Miracles

Living the HotBoy / Hotgirl Summer lifestyle usually is full of poor financial decisions. Our culture loves to stunt and look successful.

It should be feasting season for everyone...if you can't find success in post-Covid world, don't know what to tell you...

Major in tech and forget it...pretty simple.

If you got the right degree and a $60k starting salary, you should be ok, but you'll have extremely budget. Your savings every month won't be much.

If you really want to get ahead, Move back in with the parents, get a roommate, or live in a van. Them the only ways.

There are more opportunities than ever nowadays.

But shyt can be precarious.

If you're unsure and don't have the right degree from the right university etc, go get a real estate brokers license. You might have to work another job or part time in the beginning. Learn the system. Learn the language. Network. Then put together a solid proposal to get investment dollars from all the rich people you know or come across.

The thing that I hope people realize is that as bad as so many things seem, there is more money than ever sitting around in rich people's bank accounts. And these people are just DYING to put it to work. Sometimes not even for the money, but just for the flex of being able to tell their other rich friends that they're investing in real estate (or a construction company or whatever).

If you do this and stick to it you can create a nice portfolio of rental properties etc that will insulate you from the ups and downs of the economy.

The formula has remained the same forever. Planning long term requires short term sacrifice. People just don’t have the discipline and patience. It’s your own fault one way or another for struggling in your 30s. You can blame rent, house costs, car costs, child care costs or whatever the fukk else you want to blame. But boils down to not putting forth the requisite sacrifice in your 20s to make your bed. Get roommates. Focus on education and networking. Don’t have kids before you get a full on career. Don’t get into large debt. Have more get togethers for games or whatever at someone’s crib rather than ringing up constant bar tabs. Skip on the club once in a while. Pass on that big car note. It ain’t rocket science

Naah it’s easier making money now than let’s say back in 2008
Way easier. U unemployed? Go drive Uber and Uber Eats and also get one of the elders in your family to put you down as a home health aide. There's 50K+ a year right there.

Back then you really had to jump through ropes and applications to get a job and minimum wage was mad low even with lower cost of living.

I can't imagine it being any more difficult than graduating in 2006, where gas prices were so bad the president just cut us checks DURING college, september 11th happened either as a senior in HS or freshman in college, a war started and your peoples was going overseas to fight...somebody?...and some weren't coming back and many were coming back real fukked up...and oh yeah the entire american and global economy collapsed and layoffs were off the charts. Oh and you may as well burn that business undergrad degree you just got and just ride it out and go to gradschool :francis:. The 2008 economy was WAY worse than it is right now. And rates were just as high until they started aggressively cutting; higher than today.

we didn't have influencer money, followers, or onlyfans...we thru parties, sold CDs, and we had EBAY at best. We didn't have dating aps, you had to talk or you wasn't gettin' nothin.

the HS classes of 00-02 got fukked the worst in this era
I was gonna say 2008 was way worst and those of us in our mid to late 30s are still suffering bc of it. It altered a lot of people's lives. A lot of people I graduated undergrad with never secured a job in the field they got their diploma in, and ended up going down a different road entirely

Especially if you're making average and below money. :snoop:

I think a lot of us 35+ and up, spent a lot of our 20s bullshytting and trying to live the Hotboy and Sex in the City lifestyles, but still was able to slow it down towards our 30s a build a career, purchase a home and become somewhat comfortable. With how things are now, I don't think people will have a lot of time to waste in their 20s. My best advice is to find a solid wife/husband and build together. Can't afford to be single for decades like we did.
:camby: Terrible advice. I’m in the process of getting a divorce and that bytch is dragging my balls over hot coals.

:damn: Never get married, Coli brehs.

It was much worse, but taught quick life lessons in regards to the topic at hand. Folks who were able to adjust are reaping those benefits now, even though there were some lean years

I graduated college in 2005 and it's sad that having a job and a side job or 2 is expected, yet people say we're lazy. Our parents generations had 1 damn job, yet they get called all kinds of "hard workers".

And it never fails, start talking about how shytty the economy is and people run in immediately blaming people that had zero part in voting and crafting the current economy for working class people.
1 job support a whole family. 1 job and wife didnt work.. Now between 2 people they got 4-6 jobs/sidehustles or you a lazy bum.. sheesh :why:

For peanuts too :mjlol:

I remember a job I had getting paid 20/hr, my manager showed me he emailed the district manager 5 times in 4 months asking to give me a raise. The DM didn't reply to any of them. Then when I quit he wanted to sit down with me to offer me a 3 dollar raise.

Too add insult to injury, I found out he was making a little bit north of 100K + getting around 20k in bonuses

I'm thankful for my new job, touching around 65K/annually but damn they did me dirty
:scust:
