if you (proverbial) went to school for health care, you wouldn't have that problem. nikkas is out here clocking low six figures on 1 and 2 year degrees; I am the first to say that I was a dumb ass for initially pursuing a traditional Lib Arts education (albeit at a top 5 college, but still)

The bootstraps babble in here.

Talking about all you have to do is work 3 or 4 jobs/hustles and live with roommates.

Instead of questioning the system that has made it like that.

How is it easier to make money now when every metric shows that this is the only generation that will end up worse off than their parents were.

I'm about as capitalistic as a black American should be but this post is 100% facts

tMy best advice is to find a solid wife/husband and build together. Can't afford to be single for decades like we did.
If you find a girl too early remember one thing.
The girl you choose when you choose her might not be the same after living together for 15 years

People just need to stay at home longer and get roommates. Getting with someone just to help you pay the bills is a recipe for disaster. People just need to learn to cut down on their bills a bit more.

I also agree with the poster that something is wrong with the system and I agree. Something has to give.

Especially if you're making average and below money. :snoop:

I think a lot of us 35+ and up, spent a lot of our 20s bullshytting and trying to live the Hotboy and Sex in the City lifestyles, but still was able to slow it down towards our 30s a build a career, purchase a home and become somewhat comfortable....
Damn Breh, story of my life.

I couldn't imagine being where I am now if I didn't wild out well into my late 20s.

People have had college and post college roommates for decades and it’s an issue now? Live by yourself at 22 then and whine about how making rent is tough. Your choice

I had fun in college. Didn’t waste my 20’s. At no time in history could you afford to bullshyt in your 20’s. The world was never built that way.
I popped bottles and held down sections in every club east of the Mississippi on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays surrounded by a gang of Brehs who should have known better.

Trust me, you can waste your 20s away.

The formula has remained the same forever. Planning long term requires short term sacrifice. People just don’t have the discipline and patience. It’s your own fault one way or another for struggling in your 30s. You can blame rent, house costs, car costs, child care costs or whatever the fukk else you want to blame. But boils down to not putting forth the requisite sacrifice in your 20s to make your bed. Get roommates. Focus on education and networking. Don’t have kids before you get a full on career. Don’t get into large debt. Have more get togethers for games or whatever at someone’s crib rather than ringing up constant bar tabs. Skip on the club once in a while. Pass on that big car note. It ain’t rocket science
I just want an @Orange cream shake :noah:

can someone fresh out of school move to where you were in San Antonio and get rent for $575/month today?

Yes. They can move into an Apartment TODAY, first 3 Months rent free. I drive by it on my way to work every day.
