its been over a month now and i have yet to touch my ps3 brehs :lupe:...before then i use to put in at least an hour of gaming a day but ever since i was finished with GTA5 i have no desire to play game anymore..

have i grown too old for games? :to:

i cnt miss out on all that next gen piff brehs... help me :sadcam:
i think there's too much shyt to do these days

back in the day you came home from school, there was nintendo, tv, or go outside.. and don't let it be summer vacation.. staying up till 4am or sitting around in bed all day playing...........

nowadays i'm trying to play a game, while searching some shyt on the internet, while answering texts on my phone, while playing the newest album i just downloaded, while waiting for dinner to cook, while waiting on the game to start, while staring at the clock cause i gotta get up in 6 hours for work... and then my girl calls or comes over

most of my gaming consists of playing for 5 minutes, pressing pause for 15 mins while doing the above, playing another 10, pausing another 20, turning off the game, just finding some shyt on cable, and playing the computer while i eat then go to bed :yeshrug:

The games just ain't the same in my book, I'd love to play them but I just got no desire with the way they make them now.

You can say that again. That is why I love the Wii U because it goes straight to the gameplay. Consoles these days are more complicated than PCs, IMO. Too many first person shooters and shyt like that just killed my taste for playing games in the long run.

nah the problem is most games are very boring now. They keep remaking games in the same templates with little imagination. How many military or 'dark and twisted' fps games can we have? How many third person shooters? Then lets round it off with your typical sports, racing, etc. The eras of gaming I fell in love with hardly exist. There are a few gems out there, but they are few... hopefully the new dark souls does not disappoint.

When they got rid of platformers outside of Sonic and Mario and got rid of JRPGs, gaming was in deep shyt. That is why I ain't a fan of the PS3/360 and likely not going to be a fan of the PS4/X-One because of the redundant franchises. Sad thing is, we got a generation of casual gamers that hate anything outside of first-person shooters/ sports/ GTA.

Gaming has pretty much been bit by the corporate bug just like the movies and music industry. They cast aside creativity and turn everything into a formula to 'maximize profits.' Games like Poy Poy, Klonoa, Bomberman, and other off the wall titles simply don't get created anymore. What is really enticing on next-gen systems right now? More battlefield? More call of duty? More Killzone? More driving games? More Assassin's Creed? I feel like this upcoming gen as of thus far is like the PS3/360 gen with updated graphics. They are even turning survival horror games into military style third person shooters/action games. Look at what happened to Dead Space 3 and the Resident Evil series. There are a few games I'm interested in like the new MGS and a couple of other titles, but this has to have been the least hyped I've been for a new series of consoles ever.

Perfectly stated. I miss games like Bomber man and platformers like Klonoa. If we lucky, we might get a graphical remake as a download. Hell, they don't even make Mega Man games anymore! Kids today are pretty much exposed (and limited) to games like GTA and CoD, without any platformers or off-the-wall games that families can enjoy. Creativity is in the shytter and if anything bad happens to Nintendo this generation :to:, then gaming is dead.Nintendo is the last beacon of innovative gaming we have.

On top of that, we got arrogant execs that say "No one gives a shyt about Mario anymore" and shytting on their pioneers. :why:

The industry is going to crash and going to crash hard. We need creativity back in media and in schools again.

About 4-5 years ago I would have agreed, but Indie games are where you want to look at from now on if you are bored with the AAA titles.

Bastion
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
LIMBO
Proteus
Mark of the Ninja
Guacamelee!
Journey

I think things like indies and kickstarters help. They are making a new Planescape and a new Baldur's Gate-esque title via the funding of kickstarter, but it remains to be seen the quality on those titles. I've thoroughly enjoyed titles like Bastion and Terraria. Something I do wish for is more big studios taking risks on titles... which is something I applaud Sony for, because they actually fund titles that may not be all that financially lucrative.

Same happened to me, two summers ago I was gaming non stop and renting a lot of games, Max Payne 3 :whoo:, then one day out of nowhere I had no desire to turn on my console or play a game, the times when I forced myself, I just felt bored and wasn't interested. Couldn't even get hyped for FIFA :snoop:. I thought "this was it" and my gaming life was over, I was no longer immersed. I found myself enjoying watching gameplay walkthrough vids than actually playing games themselves :to:, Walking Dead game was like a mini series to me, but I had no desire to play it as I would rather watch it. Work also made it a lesser priority aswell. Console was off and gathering dust for about 9 months.

Then GTA 5 dropped :mjpls:

7 hours played on launch day :banderas:, 30+ hours in total, spark was reignited and back :win:

Just recently bought Black Flag aswell, over 10 hours played and not even 20% through :wow:.

It just takes one game to bring you back :jawalrus:.
