Chief Keef and crew are products of their environment...these days no one is on that hip-hop shyt their on some trap shyt. He's a teenager, wtf do you expect.

It's all about money, and it's been that way long before Chief Keef, but he knows how to become profitable.

First you fight for the cause. Then you fight just because you've always been fighting.

That's Chief Keef. He represents the reckless nature of today's black youth that only continues to get worse when people let the excuse "he just raps about what he sees" justify perpetuating the same violent ignorance over and over.

It's mental slavery.

Nah the music isnt the source, would you rather blame the result of the problem or the problem?

The problem is this whole liberal idea of "Do what thou will"

As a nation you we are throwing away the traditions of family and marriage, and with that comes a culture as such as the one we have now

These rappers are only the result of such a thing breh:steviej:

I have to co sign. No real solid upbringing and glorification of ignorance is what we get. People will try to make this the social norm :damn:

the difference is that Hov has clearly made a distinction between being in the booth and outtah the both, thus a distinction between entertainment and real life. c00n-clowns like Keef try to blur the lines between reality and Entertainment because his ignorant azz know that kinda stereotype will get him dollars, even if it promote death...thus the cycle continues

In one song, Hov addresses every BS point you tried to make. He goes from separating fictional from realty.....

[Hov]
They're all actors
Looking at themselves in the mirror backwards
Can't even face themselves, don't fear no rappers
They're all weirdos, DeNiro's in Practice
So don't believe everything your earlobe captures
Its mostly backwards
Unless it happens to be as accurate as me
And everything said in song you happen to see
Then actually, believe half of what you see
None of what you hear even if its spat by me
And with that said, I will kill nikkas dead
Cut nikkas short, give you wheels for legs
Im a K-I- double -L-E-R
See ya'll in hell
Shoot nikkas straight through the E.R.
[/Hov]

.....to addressing the double standards HipHop artist and blacks get

[Hov]
SCARFACE the movie did more than Scarface the rapper to me
Still that ain't the blame for all the shyt that's happened to me
Lets stop the bullshyttin'
Til' we all without sin, let's quit the pulpit-ing, c'mon!
[/Hov]

it usually sounds hypocritical when hip hop fans diss garbage music, but only because most others wouldn't understand how a song like .. Jay-Z Can I live is a classic.. and lyrically genius, while Chief Keef 3hunna is just.......... no words.

Damn y'all really think highly of Cheif Keef,
May I ask you guys age?
I guess he is "good" at what he do.
I don't think he will have a long career.

I don't like this dude Chief Queef as much as the next dude. His rhymes are beyond simple, and barely understandable...and what he reps is unfortunately a reflection of how he "lives", but as much as I don't want to I have to respect his expression..because that's what it boils down to even though I don't like the message.

He's talkin about guns, drugs, and murder, but that's been talked about for the past 20-25 years.

I honestly think peopl hate dude cause he's so young talkin about all this hood stuff, he Black as hell with dreads, (lets keep it real) look dusty and dirty as fu ck, and he can't rap for sh it. Dude can barely speak english.

I don't really have an opinion on Keef either way....but why is this always used as an excuse to defend a rapper?

It doesn't work for anything else. If you're watching the Super Bowl, and a guy fumbles a pass, or throws an interception, costing the game....his family, background, or how much he's struggled in life never come into play. You're gonna yell "get this guy the fukk outta here".

Rap though, it's "chill, he gotta feed his family". If people were as sympathetic towards everyone else as they are of rapper's families the world would be a much better place.

Fred.

well the original thread was about whether this dude should even be heard and making the point that hes getting pimped by execs etc. why cant we think of it as a person who is willing to do whatever (no matter that others will look down on it as bad for society or not aesthetically pleasing) to try and better his and family's position?

chi town southside wild 100's
This just came to mind randomly but i find it kinda ironic that kanye west made "Murder in Excellence" discussing the tragedy of black on black crime and senseless murders in chicago and then jumping on a song with chief keef. doesn't change my opinion of kanye or keef just find it a little ironic

kanye is disconnected from the new drill music scene in the city, no matter how soft kanye is he still a hood nikka from the southside not a street nikka but a hood nikka.... he just wanted to throw his name in the mix:obama:
