Some of you need to get out. Of course you're going to burn if your skin isn't used to getting sunlight. As for cancer. I think that has more to do with nutrition then it does with sun exposure, but I'm no expert. I just know that I never use sunscreen, but I also spend a lot of time in the sun and my skin has acclimated to getting a lot of sun.

The level of ignorance in this thread is jaw dropping

I've only gotten sun burned once. Went tubing with some white co-workers on a river. Neck and arms were on fire the next day. And I'm brownskinned.
keep saying this while you have Island nations and a whole continent full of people who live without sunblock and are in the sunniest parts of the world.

As the user above me just pointed out if you don't expose yourself to the sun on the regular then that might explain your predicament it doesn't mean that Black people NEED sunblock.

We made it this far without sunblock and all over a sudden now it is ignorant to claim that we don't need it :laff:

Not only that but the Skin cancers most Black people get are not caused by UV damage :dead:

Everyone in here should post what sunblock they use so I can point out the cancer causing chemicals in them....

Raise your chances of getting cancer while trying to prevent “sun cancer” brehs...

A lot of older black people have dark patches on their face. That's sun damage. I also have a co worker who has a permanent tan that is 5 shades darker than his natural color. It looks so odd and has already lead to premature aging.

Think your skin can beat the sun brehs.

You said OLDER black people, which makes sense, they’re bodies are breaking down! Putting on sunscreen for them is even worse cause now they will have very little vitamin D in their system, that means weak bones, that’s the last thing an older person needs

if our skin couldn’t handle the sun you would see all types of black people getting skin burn from the day you was born. I never seen it. I’ve seen skin peeling but that’s cause the person went from cold to hot real fast, and the skin has to adjust quickly so it forms new skin, and gets rid of the old top layer

Sunburn is literally being burned by the sun, most white people experienced it at some time in their life. Even when it’s snowing!

As long as you drink or eat a lot fresh fruit juice/fruits, you will have quality skin cause fruit is full vitamin C which helps make collagen, and elastin, they’re what most of your skin is made up of. And the pigments help make vitamin A which is good for the skin as well as help protect against uv Sunrays from hurting you

As long as you have melanin, and eat properly, you shouldn’t need sunscreen, in fact it may make things worse if you are low in Vitamin D. Pills can never equal what the sun, and your skin, makes
