I never got the hype around this Gruden character. Muthafukka's career record is barely over 50% (100-85). Now I know that's the NFL, and that kinda record is good no doubt, but the way he gets praised you'd think he's top 5 all time or something. His Superbowl win is probably the least impressive of all time considering that:
A) His predecessor Tony Dungy built a title contender from scratch in Tampa (and got fired for it by the owner Glazer

)
B) Gruden played his old team in the Superbowl. Not only Tampa had the better team, but Gruden knew all the plays Raiders had. Raiders didn't even change the damn audible signals from the year before

And on top of all that, the great WR Tim Brown is on record saying that the coach who replaced Gruden, Bill Callahan, sabotaged the game plan because him and Gruden were good friends

Now what kinda idiot would do that in the Superbowl I don't know, but I'll ride with Tim's story over some cac coach all day.
Also Gruden never won a single playoff game in Tampa after that one.
Long story short, Jon Gruden is a media darling and a mediocre coach.
