I know we laugh and shyt on each other on here and I try to keep my personal stuff off of here for the most part. But I have a really good job that I love and have been slowly moving up.

I went for a position I was certain I had. Interview was perfect but they just told me about an hour ago I didn't get the shyt.

I had know fukking idea I would feel this disappointed and worthless tbh.

I'm telling yall because we are a community and I'm ashamed to tell my friends and family.

I tried so fukking hard for that position

I don't even care if yall make fun of me I just needed to vent

Sorry

Sorry to hear that. It happens, but it may be time to look at another company if you can no longer move up at the one you're at. Best of luck to you. :salute:

Idk what industry you're in, but take that shyt in stride breh. I've never gotten a promotion, I've just left for better jobs. Some places already put a ceiling on your future progress from day 1. Take that experience and see who else out there is gonna fukk with you :manny:

and fukk that "other people are doing worse" logic, but it sounds like you have a good job, even if it's not the better one you want, so pat yourself on the back for making it this far and keeping your bills paid

 Sorry that happened to you. Please believe that nothing you were rejected for was meant for you to begin with.

There is something better coming and that position would have just gotten in the way of that. Take a day or two to sulk and try to press forward.

Best way to level up in the corporate world a lot of times is to leave the company. You may have to leave the company. Start looking for jobs outside the company.

Also, fukk them folks. You gotta look at it like them folks are the ones who fukked up. That job should be beneath you now. You don’t even want that shyt. Cause you know these folks dumb as hell for not hiring you. Matter of fact, you have to leave the company cause they not smart people at all for passing you up. That’s how I would look at the shyt. Mothafukka I gave you the chance and you fukked up.

You need to realize, these folks are declaring war by disrespecting your talents like that. Like, the audacity nikka. Trust me, if you have this mind frame, you gon level up on them hoes and this lil hiccup won’t matter.

Only thing is, you can’t fake this mindset. It gotta be genuine.

Your ppl gonna be a better help than the Internet if they love you. We all been rejected before tho bro, no need to be embarrassed; you believed in yourself for a reason. Take whatever feedback you got and apply it moving forward. Give yourself 24 to ruminate and move on.

Never tie self esteem to what you can’t control

Hold your head up high. What you're feeling is normal which is why a lot of people stay in the same role for a number of years.

No one likes rejection. No one likes aiming for a position and then failing to get it.

You just need to adopt a one track mind so far as your career is concerned. Stop considering what other people around the office will think and look for other opportunities. If you have 1 to 1 with your managers, point out the skills you were looking to develop in the new role and see what courses you can take and how your existing role can be expanded.

It is an uncomfortable position, but you need it for growth. Good luck going forward.
