its makes sense contextually with the austro-hungarian dispute and franz ferdinand's murder in conjunction with tesla's political views

It does but it doesn't. Why? Because he was a pacifist, or at least that's what this documentary said. I think he had people in his corner but they were in Europe. I feel like if you're not a white American in this country its easy to get used because of the mirage the put you through.
He was also a reckless gambler at one point and an ardent Slav nationalist. He was commonly in the place where Ferdinand was shot and also where his body was transported. Marconi also had political power under Mussolini for the Italians and things went sour with Marconi/Tesla relations when he made a push for Tesla's land. Tesla wanted it united and Italy wanted to swipe it. Pretty sure Tesla sued Marconi's company shortly thereafter but I have to re-read a bit before I say definitively. Tesla was adverse to war but he wanted unity and sovereignty for the Slavs and some quotes indicate he was willing to go ham for it.
