Yeah, my mom liked Janet jackson and Sade growing up but that was as modern musically as my parents got. they were still mostly bumping stevie wonder and George Clinton type music.

For comparison that would be like a 30 year old today bumping mostly Outkast and Lauren Hill, but maybe still the occasional new silk sonic or kanye record. since one has a throwback sound and the other is a mainstream artist from our era that is still popular. that would be logical if we stayed in our gens musical lane.
