He's responsible for his own downfall. He had a ton of options, even when he fall out of favor in Turkey. He should've taken that China deal years ago. He would've been caking off shoe sales and sponsorships like Marbury did.
Basketball was Iverson’s sanctuary, and he signed huge contracts: a six-year deal in 1999 worth $70.9 million and, four years later, a new agreement worth $76.7 million. Reebok signed him to a huge endorsement deal, including a deferred trust worth more than $30 million, a lump sum he can’t touch until he turns 55.
No way one man can blow that much money himself. His boys, agent, lawyers, accountants, and wifey were more than likely robbing him blind. I'm sure they had access to his bank accounts, credit and debit cards.

Wasn't his shoe deal with Reebok a 'lifetime' contract? He still should see some type of royalties from them, HELL he was just on the cover of the XXL/SLAM crossover Reebok issue with Rick Ross and Tyga(?) He shouldn't need his wife to give him all of the money she had in her purse so he can have food to eat. AI at the very least should be poor not broke broke.
Yeah, not taking the China deal is still puzzling, maybe AI didn't like the particulars involved and passed. He clearly isn't with playing ball outside of the US, Marbury had a family structure to help him ease into that foreign life, AI doesn't, he just got a bunch dudes leeching off him.
