Judging by his old interviews from the late '90s, he's always seemed like a guy that's very driven and sure of himself, so I assume MacKenzie realized that early on and that grew her attraction to him.

However, keep in mind that this was an Ivy League institution full of Type-A people who've had their lives and careers mapped out since middle school, so a more reserved, cerebral type of dude is more likely to catch the eye of a woman on campus than at a generic state school where the captain of the football team or popular frat boy is the "Big Man on Campus".

Yes, but remember that you have to keep age/generational differences in mind.

Women these days no longer have to rely on their social circles or immediate surroundings to find men thanks to online dating.

Dating apps are around 80% male, and we know how thirsty dudes can be when it comes to dms. Which means that many basic-looking women now have an inflated sense of self-worth.

If you're under 30 like I am, I imagine that you've run into several women that can't hold a face-to-face convo to save their lives.

Many Gen Z/late Millenial women aren't looking for a stimulating and engaging conversation, a lot of them just want a guy that they think they deserve looks-wise that they can then brag to their friends about.

To counter your point about the dusty broke dudes with multiple baby mamas, having actually lived in projects with those kinds of guys, it's usually down to 2 reasons:

1. The women he deals with consider him good-looking enough to be with -- to even have a kid with -- which has further reinforced his feeling of being "that nikka" despite being broke. Add on the possibility that the other women probably on a low-key instinctual level view him as a man of "value" due to other women choosing to bear his children and yet still choose to be with him, and you have even more of a confidence booster.

2. A lot of these types of dudes have few responsibilities and a LOT of free time, which gives them more time to talk to virtually every woman that they come across, which increases their chances.
