Tell yourself that, but it is peer pressure. There’s not a single person who waited until they were 21 years of age, went to the liquor store and got some alcohol to drink by themselves.
Always find it funny that the person who quits drinking gets more props than the person who never succumbed to peer pressure and started drinking in the first place.
Not paying attention to y’all conversation, but I had to refute this. It’s incredibly wrong. I waited literally until I was 21 because I had a lot of drunks in my family and friends drinking who weren’t about shyt. This is a lot of people story..So the total opposite of what you are saying. I just tried it one day on my own to see if I would like it out of curiosity of never doing it. Not to fit in.. but wanted to experience the feeling. I did like it and I drink occasionally, mostly relaxing by myself or wife. Some people do like the taste. You can’t group such a large demographic into one line of thinking. People naturally have curiosities and do try things for themselves. You don’t eat sweets out of peer pressure.. you had it and just liked it from then onTell yourself that, but it is peer pressure. Again, drinking is mainly a social activity. You do it because others do it as well. You were literally introduced to it by your parents. Society treats people who opt not to drink at social events like they’re the outcasts and weirdos. Most the world drinking by 18/19. I dunno what your socialization was like but everyone doesn't do shyt to fit in. Some people actually enjoy this shyt. We used to get hard cocktails at our teen parties before we were legal from our parents. We didn't binge or go nuts. I drink often and I've never been a hard drinker or a problem drinker. I never let people buy me drinks or pressure me to drink on my birthday. Always been aware and enjoyed the journey.
Your one size fits all view is not reality. It's a lot of moderate drinkers outside. A lot of shyt people struggle comes down either being ore conditioned or having weak character. Overindulging. Not knowing your limits not having discipline in life. Then when shyt falls apart they start demonizing the shyt they abuse.
Obesity is the number one cause of death in your country. Over alcohol and smoking. But we don't nearly demonize food as much or it's fat ass abusers. And we try to humanize the abusers more than those who struggle with drugs and alcohol. You got put on this earth and given a clean slate then you built on it and built your character. If your character is weak you will fall into many pitfalls. That's just the harsh reality. Life will never be without challenges. If someone is drinking because of peer pressure they are weak. Others are exploring life and discovering what they like, what works for them and what doesn't. shyt is really that simple.
If you waited that late to even try alcohol, you might as well ad not tried at all, especially drinking alone. That sounds crazy lol. Also, can’t compare alcohol to eating some sweets. Last I checked, they don’t card people for buying cookies. Not paying attention to y’all conversation, but I had to refute this. It’s incredibly wrong.
