This. That's why we need to appreciate the MC's who have been in the game a looooong time and really haven't fell off, or haven't fell off that bad, like Nas, Ghostface, Scarface, etc. :salute: them old cats for still putting out top notch verses :blessed:

Not only this but styles and whats "in" changes. There's no comparison in basketball the fundamentals of the game 20 years agoe are basically the same and if you ask some ppl they'd say the fundamentals of players have gotten worse. By contrast the flows, deliveries of MCs 20 yrs ago are MUCH different than today and you have to keep up in order to not be :flabbynsick:

Well said!

the difference with basketball and music is that. music is subjective .. sports isn't.

if you shoot the ball through the basket its 2 points whether 2 decades ago or now .. with rappers .. they spit the same thing and fans get tired of them and move on.

wayne been rapping bout "shyt" before you were born .. now u just think its lame and hence think his fall off is.

there is no one standard for music that contributes hot or hot.

understand OP?
4 years ago any song T-pain was on was considered hot .. Now its Future Vandross and T-Pain cant find a hit .. did he fall off? no .. fans have moved on

Music changes very quickly

It's hard to make hit record after hit record

It's impossible to compete with what's new in hiphop

the fans didnt fall off after carter 3, weezy did
the fans still supported the carter iv, dedication iv, and ianhb2, just look at the numbers

those were all trash, his bars just arent the same, maybe he just doesnt care idk what it is, but you can clearly see the drop off

Opinion his knew fans prolly love that shyt

Its obvious that Wayne was getting a little help on the Carter 2...

But I think at a certain point rapper run of things that are rellvant or that they are passionate about to rap about.

Dude spend their whole life going through experiences and struggles which normally help create their debut CD. then if its a hit they are expected to surpass that within the next year.

You go from being poor and grindin to living very good and having stuff given to you its hard to still be as hungry and creative..

Thats why I salute cats like Jay & Nas who have been able to be as relevant as they are for this long

Lets compare it to hoops, you dont see Kobe just all of a sudden not able to shoot at all. Yeah you'll see the players body wear down and not be able to get as much lift anymore or get tired sooner, but never just completely do a 180.

So how the fukk does someone like wayne go from his carter II style to talkin about eating p*ssy every other bar

I dont rap so I dont get it

Drugs? Don't give a fukk no more? Ghost writer left?
