People have been comparing Pac to X since '98.

They had very different kinds of styles, but the sensibilities were mad similar. So I can see why people compare them. But I think we have to chill with pitting legends against each other though. And all this "NY bias" sh*t every thread is corny. Hip Hop is Hip Hop. We ain't gotta divide everything up to regions all the time.

These dudes shared a lot of the same fans. And we should be spending more time respecting their catalogues and legacies, not doing this division bullsh*t all day long with dudes that have passed on. It's trash.

Me. X was a better MC.

Objectively this absolutely wrong.

Pac had better cadence, the way he pronounced words put a lot of extra on his verses.

I guess you can say the emotion is equal. Maybe. X had a ton and Pac had just as much, if not then more. But he a wide wide range of emotion.

Pac flow was better. Slow. Hype. Both ways. X was always 110%. Even in that song with Sisqo. Aggressive about hoes wanting him :mjlol: it's a dope track but it's funny hearing him growl about women.

Pac shined on the best tracks. Even with AAA production by Dre on California Love or Daz on any number of tracks Pac made himself heard.
X always barked and was heard but his tracks got repetitive and ran out of steam. Ruff Ryder's Anthem for instance by the time the third verse hits you heard all this before.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
To me, he's just a better MC.
Can’t agree and u know how I feel about X. A song like Blasphemy is what separates Pac but both of them are lyrically unappreciated. Like PAC’s use of alliteration is under appreciated the same way X’s storytelling is under appreciated.

They were both walking contradictions and for the most part they both rapped on beats that didn't sound regional. Dmx has one of the recognized rap verses, but besides snoop pac has the goat rap voice.

He said pac couldn’t make street songs as good as dmx, you keep moving the goalposts. “Bu bu bu doesn’t sound like X records” of course they are two different artists.

:comeon:
I didn't move any goalposts.

I'm specifically referring to the comment made that Pac would sound fake making a Crime Story or X is Coming. None of those songs sound even remotely close to the examples he gave.

Why did you hate Pac?
I realized my "hate" for Pac wasn't really for him and it was more towards his fanatics. They treated him as if he was infallible and made excuses for every thing he said or did that was objectively wrong to the point it made me resent Pac. But I grew out of that.

X is my guy, love that dude man...but I got Pac convincingly, music and possibly rap wise too. DMX delivery is just crazy man, one of the hardest deliveries ever. X was nice too with the rapping, they might be even with that. Pac musically tho >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...imo.

He specifically said Pac would sound crazy making a Crime Story or X is Coming. None of those songs sound even remotely close to the examples he gave. Because the initial back and forth started because you said there's no type of song X can do that Pac can't do. Pac could not make a X is Coming or Crime Story and it sound authentic imo
