And this is why hip hop has lost focus.

A completely white mentality to a black art form.

fukking sellout
I feel also putting youth as the main focus...
This would never happen in any other genre if an older artist won a Grammy over younger artist.
But hey what do I know, I am :flabbynsick:
New generation got this:youngsabo:

So what he's saying is...

The music he enjoys could be talking about negative stereotypes and violence towards his family. But if the beat makes him feel a vibe, he's okay with it.

Sounds like he wouldn't mind being hit by a car, if it had nice rims.

For thousands of years, Music amongst Black Folks, has been a tool of Culture to teach, as well as entertain, and worship the divine.

Hip Hop use to be used for some of these same cultural purposes.

Modern "Hip Hop" has been orchestrated to remove the Authentic CULTURE out of the music and leave it with nothing but mindless "Entertainment".

It is possible to have both a "Vibe" and Good Lyrics.

Ultimately I agree. Some of the most conscious music has politics I disagree with, methods of change I think won’t work or aren’t informed enough, and frankly doesn’t sound good. Music is entertainment and if it doesn’t entertain then why make it more than what it aims to be?
