Some new bikes have fuel gauges... not sure how reliable they are. Doesnt really matter though, you are prob getting 150 miles before the light comes on tops on a typical bike, maybe 100 on a cruiser with its bad aerodynamics

Most Harleys look like they're for older dudes and are just generally unappealing to me.

But this one here has style, looks sporty, looks like it's a cool bike just for casual riding on the streets. I want to get a bike while I'm still young.

And it's only $8,000 brand new.

BUT I do know I'm not gonna be driving it too fast and have no plans for much highway riding. I aint bout that life. Mainly streets or lesser traveled roads.

The worst part is when you get used to it

My bike does 0-60 in under 4 seconds... but Im like Im lookin to upgrade next year

Yeah, that was a wut? revelation.
They have an emergency fuel switch on motorcycles for this reason. You switch the lever over so you start using the emergency gas tank which should be enough to ride yourself to a gas station.

If you haven't thought about it, I would highly recommend taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation riding course. You can get motorcycle license if you pass the riding and written test at the end of the course. That's how I got mine.

As most people have said take the MSF course. It's fun and teaches you good habits, also makes it much easier to get your license. The riding test at the dmv is notoriously difficult, even for people that ridden motorcycles for years. Start with a low cc bike and definitely go used. I started with a ninja 250. The resale value for those things are great. I actually was able to sell mine for 200 dollars more than I bought it, so I basically got paid to learn to ride a motorcycle. Riding a motorcycle is a lot of fun, just be aware of your surroundings at all times.

I've been riding since 08. I don't do the cruiser thing i'm rockin' a sportsbike myself but my immediate thoughts are to respect the bike. As many have said here its not the first year of riding that is the most dangerous. Its after you've been riding for years and start to feel . Thats when you'll get knocked off your bike by some jackass and end up laying it down. Nice bike in the first post, good luck out there.

highly recommend any 2011+ Honda CBR250R for a first bike. great handling to learn on, but you will outgrow it quickly I found,. Also has a fuel gauge. Had mine for 2 riding seasons. Can get a used 2011 one easily for $2000-3000 with ABS

I'm planning on upgrading to CBR650F next season
