I worked at one in the 757 for like 2 months in college. Most of the calls were inbound for infomercials like
showtime rotisserie, guthy rinker vitamins, etc. but the scam was that we had to upsell the customers on a bunch of shyt they didn’t need..magazine/cd/dvd subscriptions, more vitamins, and other dumb shyt. It would be a ‘free’ trial for a month or two…then started charging them. Most of the callers were old people who didn’t realize what they were saying Yes too. We could only skip the upsells if the caller asked to skip twice.

the whole workforce was college kids, HS kids, and elderly people. fukkery for days

A lot of them suck but if you can find a good one to get on at then it's really not so bad. Also depends on what type of project the call center as you working on as well. Outbound call centers are the WOAT, tech support call centers ain't shyt either

My last call center job I did 9 months on the phones and as soon as they had a spot available on the chat/email team I jumped at it. Easiest money ever from that point forward

Me neither. Inhumane shyt, for shyt pay. I left after 3 days. Literally drove to the facility in the morning, and couldn't get out of the car. I've had some shytty jobs, but that was next level. I would start robbing banks before working at a call center again.

Had three jobs while I was in school, this was one of them and I would stand outside the building for a good 10 minutes contemplating going in. Definitely robbing a bank before doing that again.

Used to 'cold call' for donations. Did it for about 2 years and made good money (21-25$/hr.) at the time until I found out the place I was working for only had to give 3% of their earnings to the 'charity'.​
