I'd love to take off 1-2 months a year to just get my mind right

that was definitely one of the huge upsides of teaching...summer vacation was the ultimate recharge...granted you’d be completely burned out w/in 2 weeks once school started back lol

I used to work 9-5 in a call center and that shyt was soul burning to see other coworkers just out in the halls chopping it up and chilling out while I had them strict ass break schedules and back to back calls that would drain you. The techs and other specialists in the office all had them work from home flex schedules where they could dip out the office at any time no questions asked.:francis:

I lucked out and got promoted out the call center into a specialist spot where the new boss is like work when you want as long as your production workflow equals 80 hours on that time sheet and see ya when I see ya on the monthly webex meeting.:yeshrug:

Having a flex job is the damned promised land and my health is much better for it. (Lost 60lbs because I'm not tired and stressed out anymore.)

And most people can endure it cuz they got a family and bills to pay.

If you’re young with nobody depending on you, you got more freedom to take risks.

A lot of folks get married or have kids by 30 so they better get a 9-5 unless they want drama in their life.

The trick is, the upper class people in office jobs really only work 4-5 hours of actual productivity .

For real. I be straight bullshytting in the office.
Mid morning coffee runs
“Client meetings” where me and my favorite coworkers go bullshyt around town
2 hr lunches
Usually find a soccer match 3-5 pm and do some cleanup work to close out the day.
Come in late. Leave early.
Ain’t turned in a sick day all year but I’m “sick” damn near every other Monday

as long as them numbers come in right it doesn’t matter 95% of the time unless my boss is having a bad day and wants to be a c*nt for no reason.

I don't see how that is the "trick". I used to hate having downtime unless I had friends on the job to commiserate with. Being super busy seems to make the day go by quicker

So much truth in this. You don’t have to hit the bars after work find something fun to do so the week isn’t like a m-f grind.
