i actually hate "integrated" shows, like where it's done just for diversity - the one black male friend, the season a white boy dates a black chick...etc. i prefer majority black or centered around black people shows for my black entertainment (queen sugar, the chi, insecure, atlanta, power, blackish...tons of 90's sitcoms), otherwise, I'm fine with majority white casts, it's not like that stops good storytelling, and you pretty much know it's the case going into it (Veep, Curb, BB, GOT, Always Sunny, etc). I don't wave the flag for more black tokens on these shows, I'd prefer more majority black movies/shows.

Black people carry these feelings about those genres to GOT and just see it as "cac shyt", I did too (never seen harry potter, LOTR, or a bunch of other stupid medieval stuff), but a close friend of mine wanted to get into the series before season 4 started, I watched a few episodes with her and realized this is a fantasy story that is way more complex than what's typically found in the genre, the characters were

So I get it, but I also always challenge them to give season 1 a go and then see what tune they're singing after
