I don't understand the Duncan/Kobe debate

Nothing wrong with a healthy debate but I do agree with the poster who said they are not held to the same standard. Duncan isn't held to same standard as other superstars like LeBron too. People call Bron, LeBronze but Duncan was the one leading that team and got a Bronze too. Kobe shoots 6-24 in game 7 of a Finals. Duncan goes 10-28 in a game 7 of a Finals and no one brings that up or criticizes it. Dude is Teflon Don. That's actually pretty impressive.

I gave Duncan the edge, but the Olympics were brought up by others:russ:


Me personally, I think Duncan has the more decorated career in the NBA, which is all that matters imo. Olympics is international competition, while the NBA is the best competition in the world. Tim Duncan has the edge there and for that reason, career wise, Tim Duncan > Kobe Bryant.


Both are legends though and people shouldnt be so upset about Duncan catching up, he is the GOAT Big Man since the Merger while I have Kobe as the 2nd best Wing player:manny:

Not to mention that Kobe is 3-2 head to head in the playoffs, kobe won chips with less talent than duncan has had, and duncan was not the best player in at least 2 of those finals
Kobe is shytted on for not getting finals mvp playing with Shaq but Duncan gets away with it the last 2 finals.

Duncan has choked numerous times in the playoffs. With the talent he has had around him he should have gone to the finals in 2004, 2006, 2008. All those early round exists while having Parker and Manu on his team :russ:

He would be at 6 championships if he did not choke on that wide open layup when he backed down Battier :beli:

only real blow out game was game 1. SVG's dumbass put Jameer back in the lineup. We should have lost game 2 if Courtney Lee didn't miss that layup at the buzzer. Go watch how we won game 4 again.

and look at Lakers Lineup.
1)Bynum on 1 knee(torn meniscus).
2)Pau vs Dwight b4 back injury.
3)Look at our bench :mjlol:

Fidh Gawd won game 4 with clutch play.

Bynum and Pau locked D Howard down. Phil said either before or after the series that coward wouldn't be a factor at all.
