I don't understand why Pitchers purposely hit Players

Well you aren't supposed to throw at their head, lol. Hit them in the side.

But most times a pitcher doesn't care if you hit a home run off of them ... but if you flip the bat, stand and stare at it ... then take 3 minutes to circle the bases, you better expect to get hit
