I see what you saying, but on the flip side maybe they are so obsessed with academics that it fulfills their social enjoyment too. Maybe they ain't trying to live the ordinary kid's life. That's what sets them apart. Plus most of the kids their age really ain't relate to them kid prodigies anyway. So it would be ackward.

I see a lot of these kids on TV. Most of them aren't actually geniuses I'm the true sense, they're just studious with pushy parents. 
How is success at spelling competitions being used as a measure of genius? Is the bar that low? On top of that you'll see a lot of them taking on classical instruments, if musical aptitude is an indicator of genius then why not physical aptitude too? I bet most of them are
in that regard.

Breh, you'll hardly ever meet any of those child prodigy kids worrying about being "Mortal" when they getting accolades and adulation all the damn time on some narcissist shyt. Childhood is the price of having their 'genius' realized and the chance to mold their visions for whatever with all the help they get is worth it to 'em.
Plus a solid chunk of these cats someplace on the spectrum. Atleast these ones will be able to do way more than eke out a living just breathing.

Most children have a genius within them, it's just that their parents don't flourish and nurture their talents. And putting them in the school system also takes a part away from it.
As a kid (elementary school) I was taking apart calculators and anything I could find, trying to figure out how it worked and putting it back together.
