I feel like I might be dumb

Okay so I'm pretty sure I'm dumb. Got my first job at a fast food restaurant and, long story short, all of my coworkers are talking shyt about me saying I'm dumb and i dont know what I'm doing. One of the cool coworkers told me this.

Been working there for around 4 months. I still have some questions about the register here and there and I might forget something simple every now and again but I don't think that calls for people being disrespectful like that. I'm nice to everyone there.

It's really bringing my confidence down and I'm actually starting to believe I'm stupid

Some people just catch onto certain things faster than others. Doesn't mean you're 'dumb'; just means you gotta put in more effort and time to do those things more effectively

And yeah, you're gonna have some ignorant people who will use it as an opportunity to clown you. Don't let it get you down. Some of those same people who make a big deal out of the fact that they're better/more talented at the job than you, are the same ones who are failing left and right in other areas, e.g. their personal life. You might be doing MUCH better than them outside the job, in many different ways.

Only job i ever been fired from was Burger King cuz i wasn't smart enough to wrap sandwiches fast or properly back when i was 17.

Just think of work as work. That's what I do at all my jobs. I'm there to make money, not to be bother by people that don't take their jobs seriously. Just ignore them. If they aren't in a position of power, fukk em seriously.

You sound like someone with not a lot of confidence. Not saying this to be disrespectful, just my experience with some people. A lot of times people who at first glance seem dumb or incompetent have really low self-esteem, or some sort of social anxiety. They are clumsy, easily flustered and they don't try very hard because they are always self-conscious.

Or maybe you have some sort of attention problem.

I used to go to work at target high as fukk and didnt talk to anyone. bytches would smile at me but i would just give them a quick high ass smile and keep it pushin. I kno they all thought i was stupid or ignorant. But i did my job even though i forgot most of the shyt people tell me i was a pro at the register
