I feel like i wasted money buying a Wii U

I need to play the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Bayonetta games I bought a while ago but I just haven't gotten around to doing so yet. I've heard so many good things about Bayonetta I probably need to give it a shot.

Its pretty bad. Im playing Bayonetta right now and Im thinking of selling the thing when im done with that. I don't care about the Xenoblade game and Zelda is probably coming out Fall 2016.

If you're buying a modern Nintendo product, be it console or otherwise, and not expecting a software drought due to the lack of 3rd party games and have little interest in Nintendo IP's such as Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong etc. then you're gonna have a bad time.
The Wii u is an overrated ass system on the internet.

A bunch of 1 player games that don't have much an incentive to keep playing after you beat the game.
If a game doesnt have online multiplayer games or open world games its pretty much useless as a primary console

Yes, of course you can. Wii U is backward compatible. I bought a bunch of RPG Wii games: Last Story, Phantom Brave, Xenoblade Chronicles. Also copped Last story, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda Twilight Princess and Donkey Kong Country Wii. I have a bunch of games on my Amazon wishlist. As for Wii U games, Zelda Windwaker HD, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country Wii U, Mario 3D, Mario Kart Wii U, New Super Mario Bros Wii U, Bayonetta 2 (haven't payed yet), Super Smash Bros Wii U (haven't played yet), Kirby and the rainbow curse (haven't played yet), Captain Toad (haven't played yet), and Hyrule Warriors (haven't played yet) are all great games. What games do you have?

I'm definitely enjoying mine, though I wish it would be possible to softmod it like the original Wii.

shyt isn't uncommon, more than a few people have had the same exact experience but it's worth will present itself if Zelda, Metroid, and Xenoblade deliver.
If a person has the money to spend then why not but if you had to choose a platform and not be able to get anything else then the wii u is a waste
