I've been using hangouts for years...Guess what? Not everybody hangouts on their phones, just like iMessage...so what's your point?
I can do all this in google hangouts. I can even make calls from my pc to anyone's cellphone because of the integration with google voice. Unfortunately Android/Google hasn't done a good job of advertising these features to users/customers.

Is that part of he native messaging app?
It's part of google hangouts, which is a totally different app from hangouts.
The reason that messaging still exists, according to my understanding, was because android versions prior to 4.4 weren't compatible with hangouts. So in order to satisfy everyone hangouts has to be downloaded.

S7 is a bit of an upgrade from the S6 since they brought the sdslot back and upgraded the battery...but still not for me.
still no removable battery...got rid of the IR blaster...and they downgraded the camera to 12 mp...even thought they say the camera's slightly better...those factors make it a dealbreaker for me...which means i aint jumpin on Jobs Gang any time soon either.
Think Imma have to get that LG G5...has the IR blaster...removable battery...up to 2 TB of expandable memory...dual 16 MP cameras...only think that sucks is the battery is weak and the internal storage aint all that.
All phones are pretty much behind the times for what we should be expecting for these expensive ass phones in 2016...but i'm so tired of my shytty S4 i'll have to settle. Damn sure not gonna settle on a $800 phone. Lol at nikkas loyal to a fukkin brand that dont give a shyt about you. Imma roll with whoever got the best phone out with the features I want everytime. Period.
